BEACHES OF SAMOS
Samos has a long shoreline, rich in beaches of any sort: sandy and pebbled, organized and more remote and romantic.
East: From the town of Samos till Pythagorio
Ayia Paraskevi; a beautiful, picturesque and green beach, 6 Km NE of the town.
Livadaki; a hidden, romantic bay, 2 Km north of Ayia Paraskevi.
Kerveli; an ideal for families and for divers beach, 10 Km east of the town.
Possidonio, Klima, Psili Ammos and Mikali; excellent beaches, at the SE end of the island. The last two are organized and popular, though still scenic.
Potokaki and Glikoriza; organized and popular beaches near the harbor of Pythagorio.
North coast
Kokkari is a picturesque fishing village, now a resort, 10 Km west of the town of Samos. Its beaches are very beautiful and popular. From here it starts a series of fine beaches, till the beautiful harbor of Karlovassi:
Lemonakia; excellent beach, well organized, 2 Km west of Kokkari.
Tsamadou; one of the most renown beaches of the island, next to Lemonakia.
Avlakia; a picturesque beach, a bit further to the west.
After Karlovassi we meet the most famous beaches of Samos:
Potami, Mikro Seitani and Megalo Seitani; somehow remote and very scenic sandy beaches.
Southwest cost
At the open gulf of Marathokampos we meet a series of extended and some smaller beaches. The finer of them are the following:
Pefkos and the nearby Mbalos; beautiful pebbled beaches with small taverns.
Votsalakia (Kambos Marathokampou); a very long and cosmopolitan beach.
Hrissi Ammos (Golden Sand); a famous sandy beach, next to Votsalakia, ideal for families.
Limnionas; at the west end of the gulf lies this picturesque settlement with its organized beach.
